I buy an Easter Lily plant with as many blooms as I can find, every year just to enjoy the aroma. I sometimes give the spent plant to my sister, who has the ability to make them return year after year.

I was given this lovely plant last year for Christmas by Carol, my son-in-law's mother. I had never heard of or seen such a plant, and was totally amazed as to how fast and how tall it grew; how beautiful it became. I was fortunate in that the plant bloomed twice. Such a lovely gift that shares its beauty during the dullest and dreariest days before spring.

I bought a huge Starfire Lily for a friend when her sister passed away. My friend, Nan, has also been an art teacher and mentor, and we both enjoyed practicing using her plant as the model.

I worked on this while sitting all day at an art show. When I got up, I had white pastel chalk all over me! I learned to sit in an area that is easily cleaned. I usually do my pastels at the kitchen counter for just that reason.
