Autumn



Autumn is by far one of the most colorful times of year, and is probably my favorite season to try to capture with paint. The season and colors lend themselves to vivid splashes of color, often being able to use a sponge.

This was a class project that I learned more from Rudy, a fellow student, than I learned from the instructor.
Rudy taught how to find e a focal point and emphasize it by grouping your darkest darks, and lightest lights in that area.
The original piece fsold the first time it was shown!

I am reworking the original, as some of the water and rocks do not look natural when reduced in size.

Coveered Bridge measures 22X28 framed.
I was encouraged to not attempt buildings by my drawing teacher, when she saw the original drawing of the bridge.
It just shows you do not have to be able to draw to paint.
Covered Bridge went on to win an award in a local art show I entered in the summer of 2001.

Cards are available in two sizes, 4x5 quarter sheet; invitation, or A2 size, and my new size, almost 5X6 called Card Size or known as the A6. The A6 is the size of most cards in the stores, and requires no additional postage to send to your friends. The A2 size is $2ea, and the A6 is $2.50ea.
